Geography and Location
Safana Local Government Area is located in the western part of Katsina State, sharing borders with Batsari to the north, Dan Musa to the east and southeast, and Dutsin-Ma to the south. To its west, it shares a boundary with Zamfara State, a factor that significantly influences its regional trade and migratory patterns. The terrain is largely characterized by the Sudan Savannah vegetation belt, consisting of expansive plains and seasonal watercourses. A significant portion of the Ruma-Kukar-Jangarai Forest Reserve is situated within this LGA, providing a unique ecological landscape.
Economy and Livelihoods
The economic life of Safana is predominantly centered on agrarian activities, with the vast majority of the population engaged in farming.
