Warawa Local Government Area is situated in Kano State within the North West geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The area covers an estimated landmass of 360 square kilometres. It features a Sudan savanna type of vegetation, characterised by short grasses and scattered trees that are adapted to the regional climate. The climate itself consists of a distinct dry season and a rainy season, which significantly influences local environmental conditions. Warawa shares its administrative boundaries with several other prominent local government areas, including Dawakin Kudu.

The population of Warawa LGA was officially recorded at 128,787 during the 2006 national census. The inhabitants are overwhelmingly drawn from the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups.
