The Federal Ministry of Finance, headed by the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, manages federal revenue and expenditure, debt management, fiscal policy, customs and excise interfaces, and overall economic coordination.
It supervises the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Nigeria Customs Service, the Debt Management Office (DMO), the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), and the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority.
Strategic priorities include the fiscal aspects of the Renewed Hope Agenda, implementation of the Tax Reform Acts, removal of the petrol subsidy and rationalisation of foreign-exchange policy, broadening the non-oil revenue base, debt sustainability through liability-management operations, and operationalising the Investment and Securities Act 2025.
