Rafi is situated in the northern part of Niger State, sharing boundaries with the local government areas of Mariga, Shiroro, and Wushishi. It also shares a significant border with Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State to the east. The landscape is characterized by the savanna belt, featuring rolling plains and occasional rocky outcrops typical of the Middle Belt region.
