Tafa Local Government Area is situated in the southeastern corner of Niger State, occupying a vital position at the crossroads of Northern Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory. It borders the FCT's Bwari Area Council and Kaduna State's Kagarko LGA, as well as the Niger State LGAs of Suleja and Gurara. The terrain is characterized by the Guinea Savannah vegetation zone, featuring undulating plains and several prominent granite inselbergs.
