Chanchaga is situated in the central part of Niger State and is predominantly urban, covering a significant portion of the Minna metropolitan area. The terrain is characterized by a mix of undulating plains and prominent granitic hills that define the landscape of the city. It shares borders with Bosso Local Government Area, and together these two areas comprise the broader Minna metropolitan area.
