Owerri West Local Government Area is situated in the central part of Imo State, bordered by Owerri Municipal, Owerri North, Mbaitoli, Ohaji/Egbema, and Ngor Okpala. The landscape is defined by its strategic position within the rainforest belt and is drained by the Otamiri and Nworie rivers.
