The landscape consists of tropical rainforest vegetation with fertile soil that supports a wide range of equatorial crops. The climate is characterized by distinct wet and dry seasons, typical of the Nigerian southern belt. This geographic positioning facilitates both local farming and inter-state commerce.
Economic Activities
The local economy is predominantly driven by subsistence and commercial agriculture, with the area being a significant producer of palm oil, cassava, and yams. Markets such as the one in Isinweke serve as vital commercial hubs where farmers from various autonomous communities trade their produce. Beyond farming, the region has seen a growth in small-scale retail and transport services. These economic activities provide the primary source of livelihood for the majority of the resident population.
