Mobbar Local Government Area is situated in the northernmost fringes of Borno State, sharing an international boundary with the Republic of Niger to the north. It is bordered by Abadam LGA to the east, Gubio LGA to the south, and Yobe State to the west. The region is largely defined by the Komadougou Yobe River, which acts as a natural border and a critical water source for the arid Sahelian landscape. The terrain is mostly flat, consisting of savanna and seasonal floodplains that support local biodiversity.
