The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development regulates Nigerian civil aviation, supervises airport infrastructure, sets air-safety standards, and shapes policy for airlines and aerospace manufacturing.
It directs the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria, and the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet). It also represents Nigeria at the International Civil Aviation Organization.
Current priorities include concession of major airports under public-private partnerships, the rollout of a national carrier framework, full Cape Town Convention compliance to lower aircraft leasing costs, modernisation of air-traffic infrastructure, and expansion of cargo and aerospace manufacturing capacity.
