Yunusari is situated in the semi-arid Sahelian belt of northern Yobe State, characterized by a landscape of sparse vegetation and sand dunes. The region experiences a long dry season from October to May, followed by a brief rainy season that supports seasonal agriculture. Due to its proximity to the Sahara Desert, temperatures can reach extremes, and the area is susceptible to desertification and harmattan winds. The Komadugu Yobe river system provides vital water resources for communities situated along its path during certain times of the year.
