Ibaji Local Government Area is situated in the southernmost tip of Kogi State, sharing boundaries with four different states: Edo, Delta, Anambra, and Enugu. The terrain is predominantly riverine, characterized by the presence of the River Niger and its various tributaries. Due to its low-lying topography, the region is highly susceptible to seasonal flooding, which significantly affects settlement patterns and infrastructure. The administrative headquarters is located in Onyedega, a town central to the area's civic activities.
