Geography and Location
Maru is situated in the southern part of Zamfara State and is geographically recognized as the largest local government area in the state by landmass. It shares boundaries with several other administrative areas including Gusau, Bungudu, and Anka, as well as Kaduna State to the south. The landscape is characterized by savanna woodland, including Sudan–Guinea savanna transition characteristics, featuring vast plains and significant forest reserves.
