The Umiaghwa Abraka Kingdom is one of the two autonomous kingdoms of the ancient Abraka clan within the Urhobo nation. Urhobo oral history identifies the Abraka people as a sub-group of the Urhobo nation, tracing their settlement along the Ethiope River to migrations that are foundational to the identity of the Abraka clan. The institution of the Ovie serves as the spiritual and political symbol of the Umiaghwa people's identity and heritage. The Current Monarch
The current Ovie of Umiaghwa Abraka is His Royal Majesty, Lucky Ochuko Ararile, styled as Avwaeke I. Before his coronation in 2012, he had a distinguished career in the Nigerian military, retiring as an Air Vice Marshal from the Nigerian Air Force. His reign involves the administration of the traditional institution, utilizing his national experience in his interactions with the state government. He serves as a member of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers and participates in administrative efforts to maintain communal stability.
