UN adopts proposal for new world map showing Africa’s true size

The United Nations has adopted a proposal to create a new world map intended to represent Africa’s geographical size more accurately. The move addresses longstanding distortions in commonly used map projections, which can make Africa appear smaller relative to other continents than it is in reality.
