President Bola Tinubu has removed Saidu Mohammed from his position as the Chief Executive of the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority. Citing public interest for the decision, the President appointed Rabiu Umar as the new head of the regulatory agency to oversee midstream and downstream oil operations.
